WASHINGTON vs Arkansas State Prediction & Preview

Arkansas State is 1-1 after opening the season with a 40-21 victory over Central Arkansas followed by a disappointing 55-50 loss at home against the Memphis Tigers last week. The Arkansas State offense generated 680 yards against the Memphis defense but the Red Wolves defense allowed the same 680 yards to the Tigers offense. The offense for Arkansas State was led by quarterback James Blackmon with 306 yards passing and four touchdowns. Arkansas State does not have any players listed on its injury report.

Washington is off to a disappointing start as the Huskies lost an opener to Montana 13-7 as 34.5-point favorites. Washington followed that with a 31-10 loss on the road to the Michigan Wolverines this past week. Washington's offense generated only 343 yards and turned the ball over once, while the defense allowed Michigan to gain 387 yards. Quarterback Patrick O'Brien, wide receiver Rome Odunze and linebacker Alphonzo Tuputala are questionable, while wide receiver Ja’Lynn Polk is out


Arkansas State Defense giving up too much

Arkansas State is 1-1 to start the season and is allowing an average of 38.5 points per game. Arkansas State is 119th in team defense allowing an average of 509.0 yards per game with 152.5 yards rushing and 356.5 yards passing. Opponents are averaging 7.7 yards per play against the Red Wolves defense. Cornerback Taylon Doss is the leading tackler for Arkansas State with 12 while Joe Ozougwu and Kivon Bennett each have 1.5 quarterback sacks. Samy Johnson and Elery Alexander each have intercepted one pass.

Washington's defense allows an average of 22.0 points and 309.5 yards per game. The Huskies are allowing an average of 235.0 yards rushing and 74.5 yards passing per game. Opponents do not have to pass the ball that often as Washington allows an average of 5.2 yards per carry. Linebacker Edefuan Ulofoshio is the leading tackler for Washington with 18. Washington's only quarterback sack is by linebacker Cooper McDonald and the secondary has not intercepted a pass.
