An Eastern Conference team and a Western Conference team will face off against each other on Tuesday as the New York Knicks travel to the Vivint Smart Home Arena to take on the Utah Jazz. New York enters this game with an 8-10 record after losing to Portland on the road by three points in its last game while Utah enters this game with a 12-4 record after beating Golden State at home by 19 points in its last game. This game will start at 9:00 P.M. EST.

New York Looks To Get Back On Track

The New York Knicks have been slumping a bit lately as they are in the middle of a two-game losing streak including a three-point road loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in their last game. In that game, New York's defense struggled as it allowed 116 points while letting the opposition shoot 47.0% from the floor. That lackluster defensive performance was rather surprising since the Knicks are allowing just 103.6 points per game. Now, New York will be looking to snap its losing streak with another road game up next. Luckily, the Knicks already defeated the Jazz earlier this season so they have what it takes to get the job done on Tuesday.

Leading the Knicks offensively is forward Julius Randle who is averaging a team-high 22.7 points per game along with a team-high 11.3 rebounds per game. In addition, he is averaging a team-high 6.1 assists per game as he has been extremely selfless with the basketball.

Following the road loss to Portland, New York coach Tom Thibodeau discussed how difficult it was for his team to come back from a massive deficit in the second half.

"Quite a big hole. We expended so much energy trying to get out of it and at the end we fell short."

Utah Looks To Extend Its Winning Streak

The Utah Jazz have been the hottest team in the entire league lately as they are in the middle of an eight-game winning streak including a 19-point home victory against the Golden State Warriors in their last game. In that game, Utah's offense was great as it scored 127 points while shooting 40.0% from the three-point line. In addition, the Jazz recorded an absurd 69 rebounds as they dominated the glass for all 48 minutes. Now, Utah will be looking to extend its winning streak with another home game up next. Luckily, the Jazz have won five of their first seven home games as they have looked extremely comfortable at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Leading the Jazz offensively is shooting guard Donovan Mitchell who is averaging a team-high 24.3 points per game along with 5.0 assists per game. However, he is also averaging a team-high 3.2 turnovers per game as he has struggled with his ball security up to this point.

Following the victory against Golden State, Utah coach Quin Snyder credited his team's defense for the recent winning streak.

"We want to defend collectively. I think our guys are seeing it collectively. It's not one guy's job. Every guy has to do the job."
