Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs DC Defenders Prediction & Preview

The Tampa Bay Vipers remain the only winless team in the XFL after three rounds, and now they are taking on the DC Defenders, who suffered the first defeat of the year last week. The Defenders suffered a massive loss to the Los Angeles Wildcats and will be looking for redemption in Florida.

The Defenders allowed season-high 39 points in the loss to the Wildcats

DC displayed the worst defensive performance of the season as they allowed even 39 points in a 39-9 road defeat to the Los Angeles Wildcats. Although the Defenders had 290 total yards opposite Los Angeles’ 334, they committed even five turnovers and forced none in return.

Quarterback Cardale Jones had a woeful game as he threw four interceptions and no touchdowns. Jones completed 13 of 26 passes for 103 yards. Wideout Khari Lee led the Defenders in receiving with 38 yards on three catches. DC dominated the ground with 200 rushing yards opposite the Wildcats’ 56, and Nick Brossette led all the runners with 75 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. The Vipers fell short to the Roughnecks on home debut

Tampa Bay played the first game in front of the home crowd following two road defeats to the New York Guardians and Seattle Dragons but fell short to the Houston Roughnecks, 34-27. The highest-scoring game of the XFL season so far was quite entertaining for the neutrals, not so much for the home fans. The Vipers had four first downs more than Houston (22-18), but that didn’t help as the Roughnecks sliced the home secondary with three passing touchdowns.
