WORLD CUP 2018GAME PREVIEWS

The tilt between Spain and Russia will be played at the Luzhniki Arena in Moscow on July 1st. The Red Fury could suffer an elimination, but they managed to top the Group B, and now Spain is expected to show their true colors here against the Russians who only mad it to the Round of 16 due to weak competition in the Group A.

Spain vs. Russia

Three-Way: 1: Spain -164; X: +290 Draw; 2: Russia +550
Spread -1: Spain +104; Russia -133
Total 2.5 goals: Over +114; Under -143
SPAIN
The Red Fury finished in the first place of their group despite winning just one match, and it has to be said that they were lucky to get it to the Round of as it could easily go either way and they could pack their bags home. It’s needless to say that Spain didn’t impress at the World Cup so far, but now there is no space for mistakes and the Spaniards must improve or Russia will surely punish them. The defense showed fragility as they conceded even five goals in two games, so the hosts have their hopes of eliminating the favorable Red Fury here. Spain’s chances to win the World Cup are now +450, while the Red Fury is -120 to reach the semi-finals.
RUSSIA
The Sbornaya impressed in the opening two games as they collected maximum six points and secured their place in the Round of 16 for the first time since the breakup of the Soviet Union. However, their lack of quality was obvious when they faced Uruguay, the first serious opponent they met thus far, and it will be hard to avoid a defeat in a clash with Spain who is even better than the Sky Blues. It seems that the 1/8 finals are the maximum for the Russians, but they will have their fans to back them, and anything could happen on this one. Russia’s chances to win the World Cup are now +7000, while the Sbornaya is +800 to reach the semi-finals.
Match Prediction
Two teams have met last November and it was 3-3, but the importance of this tilt is way greater, and I don’t think the Spaniards will give the hosts a chance. Betting on Spain to win at -164 is not such a good option, but backing the -1 spread should be a nice choice to double your stake.
The Pick: Spain AH -1 (+104)
