Panthers end up on wrong side of low-scorer

Season form

The Panthers slipped below 0.500 for the season when they were beaten 17-13 in the previous game by the Appalachian State Mountaineers. They have split their previous six games in symmetric fashion: WLWLWL.

Cornelious Brown IV had 152 yards and one touchdown, but he had a completion rate of just 33.33% (11 of 33). Georgia State had just 16 first downs, while App State had 19. Georgia State also had 300 yards of offense.

Jaguars struggle offensively again

Season form

The Jaguars started the season in sprightly fashion but have since lost a bit of momentum as this has progressed. They are currently on a three-game losing streak, including two defeats to ranked opponents in the last two games. They are now 3-5 for the season.

In the previous game, the Jaguars were beaten 38-10 by the Ragin Cajuns. Desmond Trotter had 133 yards (15 of 28) including a touchdown and a pick. South Alabama had just 268 yards of offense, while allowing UL 506 yards.

The Jaguars offense has been well below par this season. In fact, they are averaging just 20.9 points per game. Despite their defense stepping up in games, they still need some level of offense to revive this season.
