This Saturday, there will be a college football matchup between a Pac-12 team and a Mountain West team as the Utah Utes travel to Dignity Health Sports Park to take on the San Diego State Aztecs. Utah enters this game with a 1-1 record after losing to BYU on the road by nine points in its last game while San Diego State enters this game with a 2-0 record after beating Arizona on the road by 24 points in its last game. This game will be taking place at 7:00 P.M. EST.
Utah Looks To Get Back On TrackThe Utah Utes enter this game on a serious low note after losing a rivalry game to the BYU Cougars on the road by nine points last week. In that game, Utah's offense struggled as it only scored 17 points while committing two turnovers. However, that sloppy offensive performance was not too surprising since the Utes committed 2.6 turnovers per game last season which was the third-most in the nation. Now, Utah will be looking to get back on track with another road game up next on Saturday night.
Leading the Utes offensively is senior quarterback Charlie Brewer who has looked mediocre so far this season as he has recorded 380 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. However, he has also thrown two interceptions so he will need to work on his ball security moving forward.
Following the loss to BYU, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham criticized his team's performance in the second half.
"They wore us out in the second half. That's when they started to wear us down and push us around. They did a great job of sticking to their game plan, not deviating, continuing to run the football, and softening us up. Usually, we don't soften up."San Diego State Looks To Remain Undefeated
Leading the Aztecs offensively is senior running back Greg Bell who has looked unstoppable up to this point as he has recorded 286 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. In addition, he is averaging an insane 7.5 yards per carry as he has been incredibly efficient with his touches.
Following the victory against Arizona, San Diego State head coach Brady Hoke praised wide receiver Daniel Bellinger for his performance.
"Getting him touches early was something we wanted to do. That really worked out well, obviously, for us. It was a little different and something they hadn’t seen."
- Aztecs are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games after accumulating more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game.
