The Cotton Bowl has been played every year since 1937 and the rich history of this Bowl Classic will continue even though many Bowl Games will be cancelled this bowl season. Oklahoma will serve as the home team and they are a 3-point underdog and the total for this game is sitting around 72 points.

Florida finished ranked #7 with an 8-3 record after losing their last two games to LSU and Alabama. The Gators played well enough to beat Alabama in the SEC championship, but in the end, came up a little short of pulling off the upset.

Oklahoma won their sixth Big 12 conference championship in a row by defeating Iowa State in the conference championship game last Saturday. Oklahoma finished 8-2 on the season only losing to Kansas State and Iowa State in week two and three of the season.

(Late line movements and injury reports were updated on Tuesday evening.)

Line Movements:

The line has moved in favor of the home team for this contest as the week has gone on. The total for this contest has moved down somewhat during this week. After opening at 68.5 points, the total has bumped up to 67.5 or 68 points, depending on your sportsbook of choice. A hefty majority, 72 percent, of the bets on the total are expecting this contest to end up going over the mark.

Florida Nearly Upsets #1 Alabama

The University of Florida was able to secure eight wins on the season. They nearly had their ninth win of the season in the SEC championship game against Alabama. After trailing 35-17 at the half the Gators were able to outscore Alabama 29-17 in the second half but came up short, in the end, losing 52-46.

The Gators have enjoyed success this season behind their offense and star quarterback Kyle Trask. Florida averaged 41.6 points per game this season while compiling 508.8 yards on average per game. Florida averaged 388.4 yards passing per game and 120.5 yards per game on the ground. The Gator defense allowed 21.9 points per game while giving up 333.6 yards per game.

Oklahoma Wins 6th Straight Big 12 Title

The University of Oklahoma recorded 8 wins on the season and defeated Iowa State 27-21 in the Big 12 Championship game to win their 6th straight Big 12 title. The Sooners suffered back to back losses to end September and start October as Kansas State beat them Oklahoma at home 38-35, and then the very next week they lost to the Cyclones on the road 37-30.

The success of the Oklahoma Sooners this year has been behind a productive offense and a solid defense. Oklahoma's offense scored 41.8 points per game while compiling 475.8 yards of total offense behind 321 yards through the air, and 154 yards on the ground. The defense was able to hold opponents to 21.9 points per game but Kansas State scored 38, Iowa scored 37, Texas scored 45 in OT, and Texas Tech scored 28. The last thing the Sooners need is a shootout with the Nations best quarterback.

Spencer Rattler is the freshman quarterback sensation and the future of the Sooners under center. Rattler completed 200 passes on 294 attempts, good for a 68% completion percentage. He threw for 2,784 yards and 25 touchdowns and only 7 INT's. Rattler has three receivers with at least 400 yards receiving, and these same three have accounted for 14 of Rattler's 25 TD's. Marvin Mims has 8 TD's to go with his 583 yards. Theo Wease has 494 yards on 36 receptions with 3 TD's and Austin Stogner is the 6'6" tight-end who has 410 yards and 3 TD's.
