The Mississippi State Bulldogs will be going for their first road win of the season when they face the Memphis Tigers on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs are coming off a 24-10 win over NC State as 1.5-point underdogs. The Tigers are coming off a 55-50 win over Arkansas State as 5.5-point favorites.

Mississippi State is 10-0 in its last 10 games against Memphis.


Bulldogs Going For Third Consecutive Win

The Bulldogs did a better job in their last game after nearly dropping their opener against Louisiana Tech. they will try to keep the momentum going with a win over the Tigers, which will give them their third win in a row.




Mississippi State is averaging 29.5 points per game through their first two games. They scored 24 points in their last game, throwing for 294 yards and rushing for 22 yards in the win.

Will Rogers completed 33 of 49 passes for 294 yards and two touchdowns. Dillon Johnson had six carries for 18 yards. He also led the team with six receptions for 70 yards.

Tigers Hoping To Pass First Test

The Tigers looked impressive in their first two games, especially in the offensive end after scoring over 40 points in two straight games. However, the wins came against teams they were expected to dominate, so expect them to try to prove they are legit with a win over the Bulldogs.




Memphis is averaging 49.5 points per game. They scored 55 points in their last game, throwing for 417 yards and rushing for 263 yards in the win.

Seth Henigan completed 22 of 33 passes for 417 yards and five touchdowns. Brandon Thomas had 18 carries for 191 yards and two touchdowns, while Calvin Austin III had six receptions for 239 yards and three touchdowns.

Memphis hasn’t been as good defensively, giving up 33.5 points per game through two games. They gave up 50 points in their last game and will need to do better, especially against the pass, if they want to win this game.
