The Baltimore Ravens will kick off their season when they visit the Las Vegas Raiders in the first Monday Night Football game of the season. The Ravens finished the 2020 season with an 11-5 record, which was good for second place in the AFC North. The Raiders finished with an 8-8 record, which was good for second in the AFC West.

Baltimore is 7-3 in its last 10 games against Las Vegas.

Ravens Trying To Regain AFC North Crown

The Ravens won 14 games in the 2019 season, but they only managed 11 wins last year and lost their AFC North crown to Pittsburgh. They are hoping to regain their division crown and contend for a Super Bowl crown this season, but they will have to do it without Marcus Peters, J.K. Dobbins, Justice Hill, and Gus Edwards, who suffered season-ending injuries over the past week.

Baltimore averaged 29.3 points per game last season. They threw for 171.2 yards and rushed for 191.9 yards per game.

Lamar Jackson completed 64.4 percent of his passes for 2,757 yards, 26 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He also led the team with 1,005 rushing yards and seven touchdowns, while Marquise Brown led the team with 769 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Baltimore also did a good job defensively, giving up 18.9 points per game. They will miss Peters’ presence but they have a lot of depth in the secondary and will be a very good unit again this year.

Raiders Hoping To Make Playoff Run

The Raiders finished second in the AFC West last season, but they missed the playoffs for the third straight year since Gruden returned to coach the team. They are hoping to end the drought and make their way back to the playoff this year, but they will need to play better than they did last season, especially when facing teams they are expected to beat.

Las Vegas averaged 27.1 points per game last season. They threw for 263.6 yards and rushed for 119.8 yards per game.

Derek Carr completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 4,103 yards, 27 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Josh Jacobs led the team with 1,065 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, while Darren Waller led the team with 1,196 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Las Vegas was one of the worst defensive teams in the league last season, giving up 29.9 points per game. They used five of their seven draft picks on defensive players and will be better this season.
