The South Carolina Gamecocks will be trying to pull off an upset when they play the second-ranked Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night. The Gamecocks are coming off a 20-17 win over East Carolina as 2.5-point favorites. The Bulldogs are coming off a 56-7 win over UAB as 22.5-point favorites.

Georgia is 6-4 in its last 10 games against South Carolina.

 

Gamecocks Going For Third Consecutive Win

The Gamecocks are off to a perfect start after winning their first two games. They will try to keep the momentum going with a win over the Bulldogs, which will give them their third straight win and put a damper on Georgia’s playoff hopes.

 

 

South Carolina averaged 33 points per game through their first two games. They scored 20 points in their last game, throwing for 225 yards and rushing for 106 yards.

Zeb Noland completed 13 of 24 passes for 225 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Juju McDowell had 11 carries for 71 yards, while Josh Vann had five receptions for 71 yards.

South Carolina has also played well defensively, giving up 8.5 points per game. They gave up 17 points in their last game and will need another solid defensive effort if they want to win this game.

 

Bulldogs Going For First Conference Win

The Bulldogs followed up their win over then third-ranked Clemson with a blowout of UAB in their last game. They will try to kick off their SEC play with a win over the Gamecocks, which will give them their third win in a row.

 

Georgia averaged 33 points per game through their first two games. They scored 56 points in their last game, throwing for 376 yards and rushing for 163 yards.

Stetson Bennett completed 10 of 12 passes for 288 yards and five touchdowns. Zamir White had seven carries for 34 yards, while Brock Bowers had three receptions for 107 yards and two touchdowns.

Georgia has been dominant defensively, giving up five points per game through their first two games. They gave up seven points in their last game and will need to keep up the intensity if they want to get the win.
