Jacob Markstrom had a record of 22-19-2 with a 2.68 GAA and a .904 SV%. He has struggled to start the season. Markstrom has allowed three goals or more in each of the first two games of the season. The Flames lost Mark Giordano in the offseason to the Seattle Kraken. Losing Giordano is a big blow to Calgary’s defense.

Through three games this season, the Wings have been much better on offense. They have scored three goals or more in each of their first three games of the season. Tyler Bertuzzi has been red hot to start the season. He has six points, five goals, and one assist in his first three games.

Thomas Greiss had a record of 8-15-8 with a 2.70 GAA and .912 SV %. He has been sharp in the net, starting two out of the first three games for Detroit. Greiss has allowed one goal in each of his first two starts. Alex Nedeljkovic was acquired in the offseason. He had a record of 15-5-3 with a 1.90 GAA and a .932 SV% last season. Nedeljkovic struggled in his only start of the season, allowing seven goals on 41 shots against the Lightning. Moritz Seider has looked really good to start the season and looks to help Detroit offensively and defensively. Nick Leddy was acquired in the offseason and he and Seider have been paired on defense.
