Dallas Renegades vs Houston Roughnecks Prediction & Preview
The only unbeaten team in the XFL, the Houston Roughnecks, are facing the Dallas Renegades in the conference clash. The Renegades lost the opening game of the season but won the next two games against the Los Angeles Wildcats and Seattle Dragons.
The Roughnecks edged the Vipers on the road
Houston maintained the perfect record thanks to a 34-27 road win over the Tampa Bay Vipers, the only team without a victory in the XFL. The Roughnecks recorded 417 total yards opposite Tampa Bay’s 365, and despite the hosts had four first downs more than Houston, they suffered another defeat.
Quarterback Phillip Walker completed 24 of 36 passes for 306 yards and three touchdowns. Wideout Cam Phillips led all the receivers with 194 yards and three touchdowns on eight receptions, more than all of his WR colleagues combined. James Butler had 72 yards on seven carries, while QB Walker added 34 yards on the ground with a touchdown. On defense, linebacker DeMarquis Gates and safety Deatrick Nichols led the team with eight tackles apiece; Gate also added one sack.
The Roughnecks are top of the league when it comes to scoring with 33.0 points per contest. They are 4th in total yards (323.3), 2nd in passing yards (242.3), and 6th in rushing yards (81.0). Houston is facing the Renegades’ top defense that allows 15.0 points per game.

The Renegades shut down the Dragons in the second half to get a win
Dallas is back home from a two-game road trip and a couple of victories, including the latest on over the Seattle Dragons. The Renegades kept the hosts off the scoreboard in the second half to secure a 24-12 win. They totaled 374 yards opposite Seattle’s 300, while the visitors committed three turnovers and forced only one in return. However, they still managed to get a win thanks to defensive stops in the second half.
Former NFL and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Landry Jones completed 30 of 41 passes for 274 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Tight end Donald Parham led all the receivers with 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on five catches. An ex Carolina Panthers running back Cameron Artis-Payne led the team with 80 yards on 13 carries. Defensively, linebacker Asantay Brown impressed with nine tackles combined.
The Renegades are 6th in the league when it comes to scoring with 19.3 points per contest. They are 1st in total yards (361.7), 1st in passing yards (256.7), and 4th in rushing yards (105.0). Dallas is facing the Roughnecks’ 6th defense that allows 22.7 points per game.
Dallas’ quarterback Jones is 4th in the XFL with 579 passing yards and 4th with four touchdowns. Parham is 3rd with 217 receiving yards, while Artis-Payne is 2nd in rushing with 185 yards and two TDs.
