Dallas Cowboys vs Las Vegas Raiders Prediction & Preview

The Las Vegas Raiders visit AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Turkey Day to play the Dallas Cowboys in the Cowboys’ traditional Thanksgiving Day appearance.

Las Vegas is 5-5 and third in the AFC West. The Raiders trail the first place Kansas City Chiefs by 1 ½ games. Las Vegas was defeated by the Cincinnati Bengals 32-13 on Sunday for their third consecutive loss. The Raiders were held to only 278 yards by the Bengals defense and turned the ball over twice. Raiders quarterback Derek Carr had 215 yards passing with one touchdown and one interception. Las Vegas will play without Nick Bowers, Richie Incognito, Gerald McCoy, Darius Philon and Trayvon Mullen amongst several others.

Dallas dropped to 7-3 following a 19-9 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. The Cowboys remain in first place in the NFC East 2 ½ games ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles. In the loss to KC, the Cowboys were held to 276 yards of total offense and turned the ball over three times. Dak Prescott passed for 216 yards with a pair of interceptions and Ezekiel Elliott rushed for only 32 yards on nine carries. Dallas will play without Josh Ball, Amari Cooper, Randy Gregory, and Demarcus Lawrence, amongst several others. CeeDee Lamb is questionable. 

Raiders need help putting points on the board

The Las Vegas Raiders are 18th in the NFL in scoring with an average of 22.3 points per game and over their last three games, of which all three were losses, the Raiders are scoring an average of only 14.3 points per game. Las Vegas is 28th in the NFL in rushing with an average of 83.7 yards per game but third in passing yardage with an average of 289.6 yards per game. Derek Carr has passed for 3041 yards with 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Leading rusher Josh Jacobs has only 333 yards and just scored five touchdowns on the ground. Darren Waller has 51 receptions for 610 yards and a pair of touchdowns.


The Raiders are allowing an average of 26.2 points per game, which is 26th in the NFL. Las Vegas is 16th in the NFL in overall defense allowing an average of 132.1 yards rushing and 220.8 yards passing for a total of 352.9 yards per game. Linebacker Denzel Perryman has a team-best 114 tackles while defensive end Maxx Crosby is leading the Raiders in quarterback sacks with 5 and four players each have one interception for Las Vegas.


Dallas defense is tough to beat

Although Dallas lost to Kansas City this past Sunday, the Cowboys allowed only 19 points and on the season Dallas is eighth in points allowed at 21.4 per game. In overall defense, Dallas is 18th allowing an average of 111.6 yards rushing and 246.8 yards passing for 358.5 yards per game. Safety Jayron Kearse is the leading tackler for Dallas with 65 and linebacker Micah Parsons has a team-best eight quarterback sacks and cornerback Trevon Diggs has an NFL-best eight interceptions.




The Dallas offense is third in the NFL in scoring with an average of 29.3 points per game. Dallas is 5th in rushing yards with an average of 133.8 per game and 5th in passing yards with an average of 284.3 per game. Dak Prescott has thrown for 2557 yards with 20 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Prescott has completed 69.6% of his passes. Ezekiel Elliott has rushed for 695 yards and seven touchdowns, while Tony Pollard has rushed for 495 yards and one touchdown.. CeeDee Lamb, who is questionable for Thursday, is the leading receiver for Dallas with 50 receptions for 740 yards and six touchdowns
