This Thursday, there will be a college football matchup between two Conference USA team as the Florida Atlantic Owls travel to Jerry Richardson Stadium to take on the Charlotte 49ers. Florida Atlantic enters this game with a 3-3 record after losing to UAB on the road by 17 points in its last game while Charlotte enters this game with a 4-2 record after beating Florida International on the road by 12 points in its last game. This game will be taking place at 7:30 P.M. EST.

Florida Atlantic Looks For Its First Road Win

The Florida Atlantic Owls have looked like a mediocre football team this season as they have split their first six games. However, Florida Atlantic enters this game on a bit of a low note after losing its last game to UAB on the road by 17 points. In that game, Florida Atlantic's offense struggled as it only scored 14 points while recording just 285 total yards. However, that lackluster performance was somewhat expected since the Owls have lost each of their first three road games by double digits. Now, Florida Atlantic will be looking for its first road victory of the season with another conference game up next on Thursday.

Leading the Owls offensively is senior quarterback N'Kosi Perry who has looked pretty good this season as he has recorded 1,471 passing yards along with 11 passing touchdowns. In addition, he has recorded four rushing touchdowns as he has showcased his dual-threat ability on a regular basis.

Following the loss to UAB, Florida Atlantic head coach Willie Taggart criticized his team's consistency.

"I think if this football team can just play consistently whether at home or away then we’ll get those, but we haven’t played consistently enough to play that way. Again if we want to be a championship team, we have to learn to do that."

Charlotte Looks For Another Stellar Offensive Performance

The Charlotte 49ers have looked like an above average football team this season as they have won four of their first six games including a 12-point road victory against the Florida International Panthers in their last game. In that game, Charlotte's offense was amazing as it scored 41 points while committing zero turnovers. However, that quality offensive performance was somewhat expected since the 49ers are averaging 29.8 points per game. Now, the 49ers will be looking for another stellar offensive performance with a conference home game up next.

Leading the 49ers offensively is senior quarterback Chris Reynolds who has looked unstoppable this season as he has recorded 15 passing touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns. In addition, he is completing 65.4% of his passes as he has been extremely accurate with the football.

Following the victory against Florida International, Charlotte head coach Will Healy expressed confidence in his team's ability to improve moving forward.

"The cool part about it for me is that we still have so much to do in order to get better. I’m proud of their fight, I’m proud of their resiliency, but the question is, what’s our sense of urgency to find ways to get better?"
