MacKinnon Must Lead Colorado To A Victory

This season, the Colorado Avalanche looked to make it back into the NHL postseason behind some elite level talent. So far this season, the team fulfilled that goal as the team managed to secure the second Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. By qualifying for the playoffs, the Avalanche are “rewarded” by having to play the best team in the Western Conference as the Calgary Flames finished the regular season as the one seed. However, Colorado has looked like the better team so far this series and has its offense clicking on all cylinders at this point in time. With a chance to win this series at stake, look for the Avalanche to come out ready for blood.

The Colorado Avalanche are led by star forward Nathan MacKinnon who has been tremendous this season. Last season, MacKinnon managed to score 39 goals while compiling 97 total points. This season, he has looked even better as he scored 41 goals along with 99 total points. MacKinnon is clearly one of the best players in the entire league and he has looked great so far this series as he enters this game with at least a point in each of his last three games.

Calgary Looks To Stay Alive

This season, the Calgary Flames looked to make it back into the NHL postseason behind some elite level talent. Luckily, the team was able to fulfil those expectations as it is clinched a playoff spot about a month ago. However, the team managed to do a lot more than that as Calgary ended the regular season with the best record in the Western Conference and received home ice advantage for the majority of the playoffs as a reward. However, the team has already lost its home ice advantage and is now in danger of being eliminated from the playoffs after falling behind 3-1 in this series. With a “must-win” game up next, look for the Flames to come out focused.
The Calgary Flames are led by star forward Johnny Gaudreau who has been tremendous this season. Last season, Gaudreau managed to score 24 goals while compiling 84 total points. This season, he has looked even better as he scored 36 goals along with 99 total points. Gaudreau is clearly one of the best players in the entire league and he has looked great on an elite team throughout the regular season. However, he has made a very small impact on this series as he only has one point in the team’s first four games.
