The tilt between Brazil and Belgium will be played at the Kazan Arena in Kazan on July 6th. Both teams went through the group stage without losing and ended the phase at the top place, while the Belgians collected maximum nine points in three games, unlike the Selecao who dropped two against Switzerland in the opener.

The Selecao didn’t impress in the opening game at the World Cup as they drew 1-1 with Switzerland, but then connected three victories with the identical result, 2-0. After topping the group ahead of the Red Crosses, Brazil met Mexico in the Round of 16 and displayed an excellent performance, letting the Tricolor just one shot on target, while they had even ten, and only thanks to the fantastic Guillermo Ochoa the Mexicans avoided a catastrophe. Neymar probably had his best showing at the tournament thus far and it seems that he is getting better as the competition is nearing its end, so he could be a man of the match here. Brazil’s chances to win the World Cup are now +275, while the Selecao is +250 to reach the finals.
The Red Devils perhaps displayed the best form at the World Cup as they topped the group with maximum nine points, finishing ahead of England, but their comeback win in the lasts seconds of the clash with Japan in the Round of 16 was magnificent. Japan had a 2-0 lead and this generation of Belgium players faced the biggest test in their international careers, which they managed to pass with three goals in the final 20 minutes of the tilt. Now they are having even a bigger test in a tie with Brazil, and if they beat the Selecao, it would be the strongest proof they can go all the way at the tournament. Belgium’s chances to win the World Cup are now +600, while the Red Devils are +333 to reach the finals.
Brazil is a favorite at +114 and although they are playing better and better, the Belgians will be performing on the wings of a great win over Japan and will give their all to make it to the semis and fight for the medal for the first time in this century. We could easily have extra-time here or even penalties, so I am backing a draw.
