The Colorado Rockies stay on the road to play the final game of a three-game set at Truist Park against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday afternoon. The Rockies are projected to send right-hander German Marquez to the mound for his 30th start while the Braves counter with right-hander Ian Anderson.

Marquez Stellar Again

German Marquez shut out the Phillies for six innings in the Rockies' 11-2 win Friday. The Phillies almost completed the shutout, but Ben Bowden allowed two runs -- one earned -- in the ninth. Marquez went without allowing a run for the sixth time in 29 starts this season. He's given the Rockies 17 quality starts along with a 3.93 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. He has a tough matchup against the Braves in this game on Thursday.

The Rockies come into this game 12 games below .500 with about half a month remaining. They are outside of a playoff spot, but they have some solid foundations to build on for next season, especially in the pitching department. Marquez has been one of the more reliable starters in the National League while pitching in the most hitter-friendly park in the Bigs. Colorado is trending up heading into next year.

Anderson Solid vs Marlins

Ian Anderson yielded two runs in five innings and struck out nine Friday in the Braves' 6-2 takedown of the Marlins in his last start. Anderson tied his season-high in strikeouts in the solid outing. Braves pitchers fanned 17 in all, with Sean Newcomb and Luke Jackson both striking out three in their innings of work. Anderson has won two of his three starts since coming off the IL at the end of last month. He's 7-5 with a 3.61 ERA and 1.29 WHIP.

The Braves are 10 games above .500 entering this game, clinging to a 4.5 game lead in theNational League East over the Phillies. They are top five in the Majors in slugging and home runs and have been gaining momentum over the last month of play, winning five of their last
