The Carolina Hurricanes (30-20-3, 63 points) begin a trek out west on Thursday with a visit to the Arizona Coyotes ( 27-21-7, 61 points). The Hurricanes were defeated in their last game 6-3 by the St Louis Blues. Carolina sits in 6th Place in the Metropolitan division two points behind 5th Place Philadelphia.
Arizona snapped a five-game losing streak with a 3-0 victory over the Edmonton Oilers. With the victory, Arizona moved into a tie for 3rd place with Vegas in the Pacific Division one point behind 2nd-place Edmonton and four points behind 1st-place Vancouver. Arizona has won just two of its last 10 games played, yet are still within four points of first place.
 

Carolina needs to find consistency
