The San Francisco 49ers have struggled lately and will now face the Arizona Cardinals who are the only undefeated team remaining in the NFL. The 49ers started out the season 2-0 but are now 2-2 and might not have their starting quarterback at full strength for the upcoming game. The Cardinals meanwhile, are 4-0 and have looked like one of the frontrunners in the NFC early on this season. The upcoming game will have big implications not just in the NFC West but throughout the league with these two talented teams meeting up.

49ers hope offense can continue to lead the way

The 49ers have struggled lately and the hope is the offense can lead the team back to its winning ways as they are scoring 26.8 points per game. The hope is that Jimmy Garappolo can play in the upcoming game as he has 925 passing yards and 2 touchdowns but considering he's doubtful for the game, the 49ers might have to turn to rookie quarterback Trey Lance who had to play the second half of last week's game. The 49ers will turn to running back duo Trey Sermon and Elijah Mitchell in the upcoming game as the two have combined for 274 yards on the ground. In the passing game wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who has 490 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and George Kittle, who has 227 receiving yards, look to help out whoever is under center.

The offense has led the way this season but the defense has struggled, allowing 25.5 points per game. Nick Bosa and Dee Ford have been getting pressure off the edge with a combined seven sacks and 12 QB hits while Fred Warner has 36 tackles in the middle of the defense but the secondary has been dealing with injuries and is the downfall of the unit. The 49ers only have one interception and Emmanuel Mosley has 4 passes defended but the rest of the unit is allowing the opposing quarterback to find receivers open down the field.

Cardinals are led by the leagues best offense

The Cardinals are 4-0 and led by the best offense in the NFL, scoring 35 points per game. Kyler Murray has been great under center, completing 76.1 percent of passes for 318.3 passing yards per game and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 109 yards and three touchdowns. Murray has spread the ball across the field with four receivers on the teams already recording over 200 yards this season while DeAndre Hopkins has 225 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Along with Murray in the run game, the Cardinals look for Chase Edmunds and James Connor to lead the way with the duo combining for 427 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.

The offense has led the way but the defense has stepped up as well, allowing only 21.3 points per game. Pass rusher Chandler Jones is putting together another great season with five sacks and 14 QB hits while linebackers Jordan Hicks and Isaiah Simmons along with safety Budda Baker have controlled the middle of the field with a combined 90 tackles. In the secondary, Byron Murphy has emerged as the number one cornerback with three interceptions and six passes defended, forcing opposing quarterbacks to throw to the opposite side of the field.
